postdoc at TAMU

The Ozerov group has just relocated from Brandeis to Texas A&M
University. I am very interested in hiring a talented postdoc . I am
prepared to offer competitive salary in order to attract a highly
talented individual. The desired starting date is ... the sooner the
better but I will consider any start date in 2009.

Our research spans several areas and a brief summary can be found on
the group website people.brandeis.edu/~ozerov/ (a TAMU-based
website will appear later this year). My primary interest at this
point is to hire a postdoctoral researcher interested in dedicating
significant effort to our project within 'Powering the Planet', and
NSF-sponsored Center for studies of conversion of solar energy into
fuels (see the developing site www.ccisolar.caltech.edu/).
However, I will also gladly consider individuals interested in other
directions in our group.

I am looking for persons with experience in synthetic
inorganic/organometallic chemistry or a related area. Various special
skills would be a plus. However, above all, most strongly desired is
the ability of the individual to be a creative, critically thinking,
highly motivated, and productive researcher.

Texas A&M is located in College Station, Texas. Having only been here
for a couple of weeks, I cannot qualify as a local expert, but I can
mention that the high for today, January 9, was around 78 degrees. The
cost of living here compares to the cost of living in
Massachusetts even more favorably than the weather. Some folks
occasionally have reservations about moving to a different part of the
country. However, I encourage them to have an open mind. This is a
great place to do research.
